SYNOPSIS

Scotty likes to bet on horses, and like most gamblers, he loses. When Scotty loses, Vinnie, his bookie, wins. Scotty loses one race too many, and his gambling debts soar out-of-control. Vinnie wants to make sure that he gets paid, so he kidnaps Scotty's cousin, Benny, and holds him for ransom in an underground cell. Before Scotty's debt is paid, Vinnie is found dead. But where's Benny? Only Vinnie knows Benny's secret hiding place, and Vinnie's dead! Meanwhile, Benny's grandma dies, and greedy relatives have gathered for the reading of her will. If Benny is not found...alive...nobody gets a dime. Benny must be found!

FILM LOCATIONS

"Dying For Dollars" was filmed in what is called the "space coast" of Florida. Most of the film was shot in the city of Palm Bay, with some additional footage lensed in nearby Melbourne.

"DYING FOR DOLLARS" is the fourth feature film from the husband and wife team of Ray & Migdalia Etheridge. Their previous feature films are "DETOUR TO HELL", "STONED DEAD", and "BAD SPIRITS". All of their titles are available for purchase.

PRODUCTION

"Dying For Dollars" was filmed on weekends during the summer of 2007. The project was shot in 13-days on mini-dv, and a special process was applied to the finished film to give it the "film look". This process enhanced the contrast, and added film "grain". Editing took approximately 30-days.

MOVIE MUSIC

Producer Migdalia Etheridge wrote the lyrics to the song "Sweet Benny", which can be heard under the film's end credits. Music for her lyrics were written, and performed by Phil Brownbill, which, by the way, was recorded in Somerset England. Director Ray Etheridge wrote the script, and was also the cameraman and editor.

SCREENING

A private screening for the cast and their guests was held at the CinemaWorld theatre complex in Melbourne, Florida. DJ Eric Young of radio station WLRQ-FM99.3 treated everyone to T-shirts and door prizes.

Our movies are all available to the public through Amazon.com, and we are continually striving to get our films included in various film festivals. Our films have been watched globally by literally thousands of people, and to us, that's what it's all about...getting our films seen. In addition, our projects have been the subject of numerous articles in newspapers, magazines, and even on TV news programs.
